Maroc, an orange boy, is a boat refugee from Africa sailing over the Mediterranean and hoping for a better life. The storm crashes his boat and Maroc as the survivor is washed onto the shores of Sicily. His dreams of finding happiness in the free world are shattered when he ends up as a laborer in a tomato plantation, owned by a ketchup manufacturer, a rich lemon bastard.

Lisa Limone, daughter of the ketchup tycoon, has lived a wealthy life but she is longing for love. Lisa spends her days on the beach collecting seashells that sing love songs to her. One day she finds a magic shell that sings her about Maroc. Will Maroc be The One for her? Will love conquer greedy capitalism? Shall we see the sweet-and-sour fruit of orange’s and lemon’s love?

Lisa Limone and Maroc Orange, A Rapid Love Story is a contemporary Romeo and Juliet story, presented as an opera written by Kati Kovács and Peep Pedmanson, directed by Mait Laas. Original musical score is written by internationally acclaimed Estonian composer Ülo Krigul.
